Eczema, also called atopic dermatitis, is a common condition that makes the skin dry, itchy, cracked and sore. It often starts in childhood but can continue into, or begin in, adulthood. It tends to come and go, with periods of flare-ups. There is no permanent cure, but treatment can help control symptoms and reduce flares.
Many things can trigger a flare, including soaps and detergents, sweat, stress, weather changes, rough fabrics and, for some people, allergens. Because eczema can look like other conditions, such as contact dermatitis, psoriasis or a fungal infection, an accurate diagnosis is the first step.

Your plan may include daily emollients and gentle washing, trigger avoidance and, when appropriate, prescription anti-inflammatory treatment. Everything is explained in English, Chinese or Japanese.

If suitable for your skin at the time, Cryo Soothing Care (cryo cooling, regenerative LED and a clay mask) or LDM (ultrasound care for sensitive or damaged skin, aimed at barrier strengthening and moisturising) may be added. These support comfort; they do not replace medical treatment.

Safety, risks and aftercare
Eczema treatment is about long-term control. Every option has benefits and limits, and your dermatologist will explain them for your skin.
- Prescription anti-inflammatory creams help many people but must be used exactly as prescribed; your doctor will explain how much, where and for how long.
- Hot, swollen, weeping, crusted or very painful skin can be a sign of infection and needs prompt medical attention.
- In-clinic soothing care is supportive only. It does not replace medical treatment and may not be suitable during a severe flare.
- Laser and peeling procedures are generally not performed on actively inflamed eczema unless your dermatologist advises otherwise.
- Tell us about allergies, current medicines and the skincare products you use.
- Eczema can return even when well controlled; regular moisturising helps protect the skin barrier.

Is Cryo Soothing Care or LDM a treatment for eczema?
No. They are supportive skin care, not a substitute for medical treatment. Cryo Soothing Care uses cooling to soothe irritated skin, and LDM is ultrasound care for sensitive or damaged skin. Your dermatologist will advise whether either suits your skin at the time.
Can I get a plan during a short trip to Seoul?
Yes. A single visit can usually cover diagnosis and a home-care plan. After you fly home, your doctor can follow up by photo to review how your skin is responding.
What triggers eczema flare-ups?
