What is laser tattoo removal, and is it right for me?

Laser tattoo removal at Liftique uses the PicoPlus picosecond laser to break ink into fine fragments that the body clears naturally. It suits anyone wanting to erase or lighten a tattoo or semi-permanent eyebrow or eyeliner makeup. Several sessions 4–8 weeks apart are needed, with gradual fading; redness and scabbing recover in a few days to weeks. From ₩70,000 (VAT excl.) in Gangnam, Seoul.

A fresh start for your skin – one session at a time

Whether it is a small tattoo from years ago or semi-permanent brows that no longer suit you, removal is a medical process that deserves careful planning. Tattoos differ in size, ink colour and depth, and each of these shapes how many sessions you will need.

We use the PicoPlus picosecond laser platform. Ultra-short pulses break ink particles into fine fragments, which your body then clears through its normal metabolism. Your dermatologist selects the wavelength according to ink colour and depth – an approach intended to minimise damage to the surrounding normal skin.

Body tattoos

Small and larger tattoos can be faded progressively, priced by size from about 1cm to business-card size.

Semi-permanent eyebrows

For brow makeup that has faded unevenly or no longer suits your face shape.

Eyeliner makeup

Semi-permanent eyeliner can be treated as part of a dedicated cosmetic tattoo option.

Lightening, not only erasing

If you would rather lighten a tattoo than fully erase it, your plan can be set around that goal.

Multi-coloured ink

Wavelength is selected by ink colour, so your plan reflects the colours in your tattoo.

Deeper pigment

Session numbers depend on how deep the pigment sits; your doctor estimates this at consultation.

How Liftique performs laser tattoo removal

  1. Diagnosis

A board-certified dermatologist examines the tattoo's size, colours and likely pigment depth, with 2D Mark-Vu skin analysis available, and explains the expected number of sessions and cost.

  2. Wavelength selection

The PicoPlus wavelength is chosen according to ink colour and depth, aiming to target the ink while minimising damage to normal skin.

  3. Comfortable treatment

Numbing cream or local anaesthesia is used, within our pain-control system of numbing cream, fine-needle injection, nerve block and oral analgesics at no extra cost. Sleep sedation is ₩200,000 with an 8-hour fast. Treatment takes 10–30 minutes depending on size and number of colours.

  4. Recovery and follow-up

Expect frosting, then redness and scabbing. Your next session is planned 4–8 weeks later, and your doctor can follow your progress by photo after you fly home.

Safety, risks and aftercare

Tattoo removal is a gradual medical treatment, and we are honest about what to expect. Immediately after treatment the skin typically shows a frosting reaction, followed by redness and scabbing that recover over a few days to a few weeks. How quickly ink fades depends on its depth and colours, and outcomes vary from person to person.
